A bit about me

Hi, I’m McMillan (short for McMillan/ Mac Findlay), thanks so much for stopping by!

I am a singer-songwriter from Regina SK, Canada on Treaty 4 Territory, now based in Montréal, Québec (Tio'tia:ke). I make music blending folk and indie/alternative influences, and I grew up listening to music that my mom had playing in the car or at home; Cassette tapes, records, CDs, and Radio, you name it. Looking back on it, this was where the artist bug got me.

In 2025 I released my debut single, "Best is Still in Store". I wrote this song in 2023 after leaving school with mental health issues, and what I was seeking at the time were affirmations for me to get through this difficult, confusing period of my life. What came about was a song that was close to home, so much so that, despite knowing others were likely to resonate with the song, it took a lot of internal inertia to release the song; This was even after having it produced, mixed, and mastered by Brad Prosko in Regina and Lumsden SK, who encouraged me to record it upon my sending him a recording over email. Since the release, I have heard from others who have listened to the song, and it's been heartwarming for me to hear that it has resonated.
